The original Veterans Memorial
School was built in 1951, but was replaced with
a new facility in 2000. Generously funded by
the townspeople of the Saugus, the new Veterans
Memorial School features large classrooms, a
9,000 volume library, computer lab, full handicapped
accessibility, and internet connectivity in
all classrooms.
Our school houses 630 students in
preschool through fifth grade and 90 staff members.
Since we are a new facility, the Veterans School
hosts most of the district's special education
programs. It is this climate of inclusion that
makes our community even stronger. Due to our
number of students receiving free and reduced
lunch, we are also designated as a Title I Targeted
Assistance School, entitling us to extra funding
to help struggling students in the area of mathematics.
