* ALL students are required to read The Old Man and the Sea, as well as four other books from the above list. Students are to keep a reading journal for each book, recording observations, questions, impressions, and interpretations of the material. DO NOT SUMMARIZE! A dated, handwritten entry should be made each time you read, noting the date and pages. Each entry should include al least one quotation or excerpt of particular interest to you. At the top of each page, please write the title of the book. These journals will be collected during the first week if school. Please attach this sheet to the note book before you pass it in. Thank You. Note: Please consider using a "marble" notebook or a spiral, rather than a loose leaf binder |
