SAUGUS HIGH SCHOOL

SUMMER READING LIST

GRADE 9

2007

Welcome to Saugus High School.

Congratulations! You have just completed a very successful year in your eighth grade English course, and now it is time to prepare for Freshman English.

Over the summer you will be required to read books from the Freshman summer reading lists.

Students must take handwritten notes, which will be collected during the first week of school, on the assigned books. These notes should be taken during their reading, preferably after each chapter has been completed. The notes should include information about the settings, characters, major plot events, and themes in the book.

During the first week of school, studnets will also be given a written assignment based on their understanding of their chosen books.

Please keep this list for use during the school year.
