Snakes and Lizards

Snakes are cold blooded reptiles. They look like long worms or a lizard with no legs. Snakes have evolved from lizards to beagle to climb trees and to strangulate their prey. Others have evolved to have fangs that when they penetrate their prey, they inject venom that can kill or paralyze mice or other small mammals. Snakes have a tongue that as a powerful sense of taste because of its poor sense of smell. It tastes the air to hunt its prey. Many snakes lay eggs, but some are known to give live birth. The boaconstrickter has what appears to be what's left of its legs; two little stubby claw like toes. The king cobra is one of the most venomous snakes on earth. It hunts other snakes because of its huge size. It has been used as a riot controller in India. Snakes are not trying to bite us but if we threaten it, it will protect itself. Snakes don't have movable eyelids but they have a transparent scale over their eye. Lizards have moveable eye lids. Snakes also shed their skin by rubbing against rocks and trees.snakes are all really misunderstood creatures. They are three times more scared of us than we are of them.

Lizards are cold blooded reptiles that have a scaly skin and long tails. They lay eggs but are rarely poisonous. Lizards can live in trees, on the ground, or in the water. The kiemotto dragon is the biggest lizard in the world. At a young age it can climb trees but as an adult it can run faster. The kiemotto dragon is not just known for its size, it also has an infectous bacteria bite. If it bit its prey once in the leg, the animal would die in one to two days. Another lizard is the desert horned lizard who not only has pointy spikes all over its body, but when threatened by a predator, its last defense is to squirt blood from its lower eye lid to blind or confuse the attacker.
